When you arrive at the ranch, you will somehow believe that you have been transported to the magic of the Old West and yet, with modern amenities the like of which you have never seen. Seriously, we are seasoned travelers and I mean it when I say it just does not get any better than this. I traveled to the Bar Lazy J Ranch in June of 2020 with my two teenage sons and their friend. Our trip was with extended family that consisted of 6 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 4-17. We all agree that this trip was one that we will relive and tell stories from for many, many years to come. Experiencing many "firsts" with our 13 year old who was old enough to do more adult activities - he tried trap shooting, zip-lining, archery, axe throwing, and riding a horse for the first time all in one week! We love to travel as a family and talk often about making lasting memories. Watching out 11 year old daughter who had never ridden a horse attend the kids club and become a confident and happy rider.
seeing our 17 year old smile and talk to people that began the week as strangers, but who ended up being good friends by the end of our time at BLJ. A family vacation like none we have been on before and many touches of *magic* throughout the week. They took us from never riding a horse before to loping and exploring the adventurous rides.

Wrangler's were professional and confident and very good at working with those of us who weren't very familiar with horses. All staff were friendly, outgoing and willing to do anything asked of them. There is wifi available at the lodge which is a great way to gets kids, teens, AND us parents off of our devices and more present in the moments and memory making that happened here. Sometimes darker things come out – after all it’s all improvised, so if I’m having a bad days there’s always a chance some evil will find it’s way in. It’s a life without worries, it’s cosiness. “Most of these are fantasies or wishful thinking.
At first, the composition appear as random collections, but each one has been influenced by Ori’s mood and thought processes. It always feels like my weak point, but when I get it right it makes me so happy,” says Ori. Ori’s images are abstract and flat, so the illustrator uses colour to convey a mood and atmosphere rather than depict a specific space. Sometimes I come back and do more lines – it all depends on what I feel like, there’s no planning.” When I’m done with the line work I start colouring. “Sometimes I work in Illustrator which smooths lines in a way I don’t like as much but gives me greater flexibility.
“I use this plug-in called Lazy Nezumi Pro that stabilises my line in a way that makes me feel like I’m drawing on paper,” he explains. Each image starts with a blank file in Photoshop and Ori simply begins drawing. “Because I work spontaneously, I need to be interested in what I’m doing all the time, otherwise depression and boredom sneaks in,” says Ori on his style developing. He’s since progressed onto cleaner lines and shapes with defined edges. When we previously showed Ori’s work, his style was bubbly with a brush-like texture set against dark backgrounds. “Some of my new works also combine some elements from interactive interfaces and operating systems, comics and general geometric shapes.” It’s also other print design references like data design that I always liked as abstract art,” says Ori. “I think they all came back to me lately as really delayed inspiration. Inspiration for the illustrations came from the unlikely source of newspaper and magazine layouts from a previous job of Ori’s.
